  • Friday July 10th Day 75 I am home!!!!

    Hello DestinyMaker's,

Today's blog is sponsored by the Marroitt Courtyard in Aventura, Florida.

There are certain things in which I control. Things out my control I have the ability to react to. Today the duality of all things converging came to be. I wanted to get home. Nothing was going to stop me from seeing Nyle. Not the miles between us or the weather I would need to bike through. I wanted my moment with him. Just the 2 of us and all you who want to see it on video.

I put my head down and my heart in gear. The bike is on it's last miles. Not so much different then me. Except today I feel like it's the first day. Physically speaking. I am energized by the true offering of your hearts and the love I have for my son. The game face is on. Weeks of intense focus took over. One final day until rest. Yes I will rest.

I was up and out early. Before dark. This wasn't going to be a picture taking day. It was a day of cycling. I needed to get miles in early. I was meeting Michelle a promising figure skater with Epilepsy. she has been inspired by my efforts in raising awareness. This will be special.

Many emotions and memories filled the morning air. All the experiences and people behind them. All the lives I've touch. All the moments where I would meet someone dealing with Epilepsy. Every mile and person I spoke to. All these thoughts were firing away. I also thought about tomorrow. Not just the day but all of those that are ahead. many tomorrow's to continue the journey ahead. To set news goals and opportunities to better my life and that of my son.

Michelle and I met for Breakfast. Her Mother was there as well. Michelle was nervous but a typical teen who happens to be talented in figure skating. Oh yes she has Epilepsy as well. She has overcome other medical obstacles and will not fall shy of her stated goals of being a player in the future of figure skating. I applaud her work and effort. It was time now to see my hero, Nyle.

It was getting hot. No question I was lucky with all the rain the past few days. Though I was wet and had to dodge a lightning strike or 2 it did keep me cooler. No matter how much I iced my hat or wet my shirt cloud cover it wasn't. When the sun is out it is hot. I faced one day over 100. many days with the heat index over 105. A afternoon rain without lightning was refreshing. None so today, except in the morning.

.I went in and saw Hal who owns a Pawn Shop in Ft. Lauderdale. That's tradition now. After a brief hello I needed to get to Nyle who thinks I am coming home tomorrow. Passing the Ft. Lauderdale airport and other smaller cities i was about to enter Aventura when I heard from a car Welcome back! Not even one mile into the city. I kept going to my son's camp where he works as a counselor. I had one of his co workers to tell him to come out. That he had something to do. I hid behind a wall. After he walked in the area a few steps I came from behind the wall. he couldn't believe it. He turned away to gather himself then ran to me and leaped in the air to hug me. The result led to no injuries but a show of love as we hugged on the ground after he knocked me over. It was awesome and emotional. Minutes afterward he had me playing basketball.

    75 days 6500 miles 2010?

I'm so proud of you. The greatest thing about you and DestinyMaker is that your organization has someone leading it that inspires people. That is a most incredible quality to have and you have it. I know the next stage of your life with Nyle and DestinyMaker is going to be a huge success.
