  • Tuesday July 7th Day 72 Current City...High Springs, Fl

    Hello DestinyMaker's,

Today's blog sponsored by Power Smoothie in Aventura, FL home of Glenn's final mile.

Couple things to cover before I begin the day. Phillip as of now and most likely forever after 4 years is done. I know those of you and I want to thank him for his service to DestinyMaker and the Epilepsy community. But the show must get on the road and not stop. So for now there will be no updates or pictures on the site. Well updated ones I mean. I will have the entire day experiences as I always have. All news for "in the news" will be in here and facebook. Once I will get home I will learn how to at least keep the site as is. Unable to afford anyone at this time so I feel able to learn.

Still another thing to cover is I finished the interview for Epilepsy Today from the UK. I am also having a story in Epilepsy Advocate. Also pleased to find the USA today newspaper had the story in their region. That's the purpose of my efforts. To help break down the walls of stigma associated with Epilepsy. Every time an article appears somewhere on Epilepsy is raises people's conscienceless. Each time someone reads about me with epilepsy they are inspired. That is the mission of destinymaker. Even if the same article is reprinted in different markets. I am making a difference, what more could be asked of me. Well I am waiting and will be ready to answer. More awareness one person and mile at a time. I could say since 2006 the demi graphs of every article, interview, tv nightly news combined would be in the millions. I am touching lives every day.

I want to get under 400 miles to go. Except I can't go anywhere. The weather which will clear soon has stalled my start. I will leave when I feel safe. There goes any chance of making it to the coast in one day. I hope to still make Gainesville. I had in room and lobby coffee. I also had breakfast. The front desk fella remembered me from my last stay. The skies were dark but not as bad. I was ready to go and off I went. I too 27 south to Gainesville. Well almost all the way.

The ride started out well. Though there i a great deal of pain I am over coming. I am basically finishing 3 Tour De France. There is not much left in them. There is enough to get home. The road had a great bike lane. The road itself was great for cycling. I was tired from yesterday's effort but I am thinking about getting home. I was going well with good speed. I kept my head down and concentrated on what is needed at each mile. My answer was to focus on the next. It's all I have in life. Be it one bike, ran, walked or crawl I only have the next mile of my life and with what I can do with it.

One thing I can't do much with are wild dogs chasing. these 2 dogs come out of their yard and kept coming. I had to give it everything I had. Taking it over 20 mph. The dogs were gaining but could I out run them. I did. I also met a friendly coyote covering in woods during a storm. I even took a picture. What I can't do anything about at all is mother nature and nasty streak. She was out today in full force. A storm approached that came so quick it was like a squall. I was blinded. Cars were still going and I was hoping one didn't/t slide toward me. It was so bad cars pulled over. i biked past them.

I arrived into a town that was short of where I wanted but I would be safe for another day. I took that opportunity and will fight another battle tomorrow. I am not in a rush against time, I am in one to find a cure. I want to see my son dearly but if I am slowed down some so be it.

Thanks to Michael for sending pictures of July 4th. I will have them posted in no time. I am tired and in need of major rest. I need things to fall in place back home. A hotel room waiting for 2 days is so important while I rest and gather myself and thoughts. Give me enough time to check on apartments or take offers from friends to stay until the end of month. Possibly move in with another friend but I am not sure if that is the best for Nyle. I know that will all take care of itself once I am there but if I don't give it energy the action can't take place.

Tomorrow somewhere between Flagler Beach and Ormond Beach. I hope we can find a hotel. At such short notice I had to pay for this one stopping our streak near if not more then 5o in a row. Well it seems that many.
