  • Monday July 6th, Day 71 Current City...Perry, Fl

    Hello DestinyMaker's,

Today's blog sponsored by the Hampton Inn in Perry, Fl.

If just do it were all it took then what would my life be like. Because I feel as if I "just do it" every day. But that adds up to what. Respect yes!! I must find a way to turn all the respect into a better life for my son and I. If getting over obstacles was all it took then what would my life be like. I've overcome so many. I will need to use all the experiences of climbing over the ones I have to get other parts of my life on track. That is the goal when I get home. Home to place with out one.

I was still down about the losing of pictures I took. I am not sure how it happened. My only explanation is I dozed off briefly with camera in hand and must have hit the buttons leading to erasing of pictures. I had to shake off the let down feelings and prepare and pack for the day. It wasn't so easy but I focused on the next few days. That got me over quick. I concentrated for a moment on that final mile seeing Nyle and I was geared and ready to go.

First though was breakfast and in room coffee here at the Best Western. Then I realized I can't go anywhere. The weather has turned the morning sky to night. I must wait for this cell and some trailing stuff to move on. I got lucky yesterday and don't want to chance it again. I saw many were hit by lightning in Florida yesterday. A group I need not join.

I spoke to Nyle. We are very excited to see one another. He is making plans for basketball this weekend. All I am going to want tot do is rest. I think he is going to win out on that. Not the game. I might not have all my strength but I will bring what I do have.

I waited and tried to time things just right. I had under 60 miles. I knew there was a chance for worse weather to come but there was a window of oppurtunity and I was ready for a sprint. Using all the strength and ability to achieve these miles in the shortest amount of time.

It was just before 11am and it was time. A nice steady rain was falling. It was refreshing. Just enough to keep me cool. I actually loved it. Clouds were darkening behind me so I knew the task. Let's get to Perry and get there quick.

The ride itself when it turned more inland became more humid. The rain though did keep me cool and never really came down to strong. I was flying well at least by my standards. I cover the first 36 miles in 2 hours. I did the next 24 in under 2 hours. I did stop for a little as a wildlife preserve.

There will be no big home coming. No TV as of now. Just a reunion of Nyle and I is all I need. No one back home seems to be stepping up and getting anything together and I just don't have the strength to put it together. I might ask someone but who knows their answer. I am not sure if Ii will be home Friday or Saturday. Going home without a home is some what unsettling but I've been there before and will figure it all out. I owe it to myself and Nyle to get a place ASAP!!!. The costs getting home from here shouldn't be to much. I have to send Wendy back the money she sent a while back. After some other destinymaker cost related things I must do there won't be enough to get a place right away. I was hoping there would be but not quite sure now. With what will be left I don't want to get a place and have no money. I know this, my clients are calling and ready for me to be home. I will go back to work this Monday after resting somewhat over the weekend. I won't be on the court all day. But I will get back on it. I must get a place that will be my first focus when I get back. I am still awaiting on a contribution from Chicago that was promised. Should that arrive I will have enough to begin to fulfill that promise that I've made to myself. Get a apartment, do the mission of destinymaker.

I arrived in Perry. I was here in 2006. The Hampton Inn gave me a room then and again tonight. I can't thank all the hotels enough and for Paula who has done great work making calls for me. I checked in after some touring of the area.

I will need someone to take over for Phillip for the website work that needs to be done. I think he has had enough after 4 years. I can't thank him enough for his service to destinymaker and the epilepsy community. If I must I will learn how to do it. Only thing really needed are loading photos and updates on things such as in the news or other anouncements.

Attention all Destiny Maker Supporters - Glenn is about to finish this year's ride and he needs your help! I know he would never ask so I am going to ask for him - the two nights stay in Aventura is going to cost $100 total(I could not get it down any less - the room is regularly $110/night) He needs to cover this cost so he can settle in , spend some time with his son and find an appartment. I we each just gave a little bit - Glenn would have his stay covered and he would not have to worry about the room expense. Then there is the cost of food and setting up a place to live - HE needs us more than ever - Now is the time to really show your support Paula - the travel agent!
