Saturday July 4th Day 69 Currrent City...Mexico Beach
Hello DestinyMaker's,
Today's blog is sponsored by Killer Seafood.A huge thank you goes out to Kim, Michael, Kevin.I was up quite early. Anticipating a great day. Times do call for expectations. Seldom have I allowed for many. I was out by 4am. I stopped by a fast food place for coffee. Stayed there to there was a hint of light. I left for Mexico Beach. Up over the bridge where I was interviewed the first time by NBC. They also interviewed me and it aired last night. Also in the newspaper today there is a report. My goal of raising awareness one mile and person at a time has come true. The ride was quite nice and there is rich history here as well. Battles fought in civil war times. I took the business 98 route. It was scenic with water on right and homes built by the pioneers of their times. I then went through an Air Force Base. No planes though. While biking I was thinking of my Mom. She passed away on this date. So many fond memories. I miss her dearly. I wish she would have seen my efforts these past 4 years.I arrived early to Mexico Beach. I wanted the gulf waters. I locked the bike up on a post on the beach. I then went in and the water felt so good. I can't begin to tell you how much I needed this. This and a massage that I will get when I get home. My legs are sore. These 2 hours in the water worked wonders. Kim arrange for a police escort to the restaurant. It was a few minutes before noon and I needed to get ready. I met the 2 officers @ 42nd st and route 98. Two officers, two cruisers, sirens, lights, one destinymaker cyclist and his bike. The 2 mile ride to Killer Seafood was great. The road was crowded. Cars had to move other on either side. Many applauded from their cars. It really made me at least for a moment what others think about what I am doing. I have given every ounce of myself into Destinymaker. This kind of reception was described by one local, "they don't give police escorts for just anyone".Awaiting were the Killer Seafood Crew and some patrons. They applauded. I took pictures with the officers. We then all took pics together. To touch the lives of others by a simple act of bravery. It's moments like this when all things converge. If you invite, I will come. I felt at home.Time for lunch. We went inside. Many inside applauded. A few came over and shook hands. Then I had Grouper. After chowing down I met a family and young boy who has seizures. We took pictures together. I will remember the conversation forever. You could tell how thankful these people were in my efforts. I in return have the utmost respect for how hard these parents have worked to make it better for their son. More magic on a truly magical day.I followed Kim back to her house. Michael stopped by for a moment. They went back to work. I relaxed by taking a nap. I am exhausted and in need of more then just sleep. I need a few days of nothing. Kim called and said 7pm pick up. I made coffee in the press. Everyone should be pressing.Back to Killer Seafood for well Killer Seafood. This time they stepped in up a notch with a seafood medley in a bowl of bread that gets saturated in the award winning killer seafood sauce. This was amazing. They sell from the store so give them a call and order some. Mentioned the destinymaker cyclist referred you.A couple cold ones later and fire works it was time to get to bed. When you know memories are being made while they are. You will look back and draw inspiration when other days seem dark and uncertain. We made a difference today for others. Nothing more no noble then give up something of yourself for another. It's what a destinymaker does!Amanda made a comment about your link:
